"We Waitin"

311 Day in LV. We all decided to finally partake in one of these events. In attendance, we had Trish, Ryan, Cody, Kaysi, Joey, Jeff, Jesse, Andrew, Hooch and I. Mac and Chelcee also came down for some fun. I am so glad that I went. I am not the biggest 311 fan, and never would've thought I would make it out for a 311 Day. Thank god I did, it was a blast spending so much time with my family! Lots of Love..

"Life could slip away in absent minded numbness.
I'm only sayin' this 'cuz I wish for the best.

311 Day Adventures: 3.11.10
Coffees for the drive from Café Espresso
Drivin.. Drivin.. Drivin…
Checking into Mandalay Bay for 3 nights

Conjoined room with Jesse and Andrew..
Cody, Kaysi, Jeff and Joey had rooms 2 doors down..
So much fun bein’ surrounded by such love..
The rooms were pretty nice..
although you can see Hooch and I made quite a mess
Comfortable beds and a large area to play.. way too hot to sleep at night though with all the down comforters on the bed..

Big bath and a tv to watch while you soak..

The best part of the hotel room.. duhn dah duhnnn..
iHome for my iPod..
nothing like being able to listen to your own music on vacation..
I have always wondered why thy don’t have them in the rooms..
When I walked in and saw the iHome,
I started jumping up and down just like a little kid…

Just in case you get the munchies, there are snacks available in the room… there to taunt you.. You see, they are on a scale, and once the weight changes, it is automatically charged to your account. Knowing Vegas, this means that they are way overpriced :P There was also a fridge jam packed with items to buy,
but we couldn’t get ours unlocked..
So.. anyways, we noticed that both Cody and Kaysi and Jesse and Andrew were missing one little item…
Can you tell what it is by comparing the next two pictures;
one that is complete and one that is not?

I am pretty sure that Jesse and Andrew didn’t use theirs though, not with each other anyway. Andrew did go up to the room by himself (at least we think) for a bit.

Meet up with the kids, just to wait in line for 2 hour for 311 Day Shirts..
Playin some hack to waste some of the time
Getting a few drinks before the show (mainly just in our rooms)

311 played from 733 until after 1.. just them, no openers
Pizza Suckers
Kaysi’s seizure and removal from the concert.. unconsciousness..
Food at the food court during the show (Nachos and Pretzels)
Late, Late Dinner after the show

Next morning, wake up and get ready…
Head out for breakfast with Cody and Kaysi on over to good ol’ Raffles Café (same as the night before)
Met up with everyone, went to the rooms..
Drank, Drank, Drank.. went and sat by the pool..
Drank, Drank, Drank.. chilled in the room for hours..
Anticipating the Wailers Concert

Sushi dinner with everyone at China Grill.. Don’t be fooled by the name, this place was fantastic.. and DELICIOUS! Happy Hour Sushi Specials.. Half off rolls.. lol.. not only did they mean half off the price, but half off the rolls too.. Noodle dishes for $30, but well worth the price.. too bad Trish ordered noodles off as an appetizer to find out how much they were.. ha The bathrooms were even cool…

The Wailers.. Better show in my opinion than 311

Reasons it was Better: More Room to Dance Around
Could Bring in Outside Drinks
Better Sound
Better Environment (Outside, Fresh Air, Moon and Stars).. awww
Wailers Played in the Wave Pool at Mandalay Bar
It was so much fun to dance around in the knee deep water
Others chilled on the sandy beach..
Great Songlist..

Shoes in the pocket in order to dance freely in the water (wave pool)

Cody’s Stack of Drinks Before

And the Result of His Many, Many Drinks

Cody meeting friends after wards

Telling stories of how his arm got caught in the elevator…

How the elevator ripped off half of his arm

“You think you’ve got a bad hand, what do you think about mine”
haha Cody loves to put people in awkward positions with his little arm.. Cracks my shit up. This quote is a little older, but it fits in with the situation. He first used it in a poker tournament.

Dinner at a Mexican Restaurant called Hussong’s Cantina
with Joey, Jeff, Cody, Kaysi, Hooch and I
Met up with Danielle’s uncle Jim and his new 31 year old wife Barbie
(who I thought was joking about her age the whole time because she looked 50, but nope, wasn’t lying.. joke’s on me) met up with us

Next morning, wakey wakey
Get ready and head for the strip
Chill for a bit
Meet Trish and Ry by the pool..
Was a nice day when we planned to sit by the pool, but by the time we got there, it was super windy. There was a cool live band from Park City playing, but we didn’t get to check them out long because sand from the beach was caking to our bodies, ears, faces, and in our hair.. Towels and other UFO’s were flying. Lounge chairs were even pulling dangerous stunts, smacking Trish in the face.. lol…

Back to gambling and hangin in the rooms
By this time, Cody, Kaysi, Jesse, and Andrew have headed back to SL,UT
Hooch, Trish, Ryan, Joey, Jeff and I meet up
Walk the strip for a bit at night
First stop, drinks and restrooms at Planet Hollywood
Taxi ride to Fremont where we all meet back up
Dinner at Tony Roma’s
Then to Hogs and Heifers Bar (Little Biker Bar at one end of the street)
Mac and Chelcee meet up with us there
Walk to Golden Gate Casino to get some cheap (But GREAT) shrimp cocktail
On to the Las Vegas Country Saloon where we played Beer Pong, Danced on Stripper Poles (Not Really), Rode a Mechanical Bull, Had some Drinks, Listened to a Live Band, You name it.. it was a classic country bar..

After hitting the country, we hoped into a lime back to the strip. Our limo almost ran out of gas or something because it was missing on the freeway. We got pretty sick on that ride with the limo slamming back and forth…

Met up with Josie sometime after 2 am. We had to wait for her to get off of work at the Mandarin Oriental Bar, which is super nice bar on the 23rd floor of the hotel in the new city center.
We stayed up until 630 talking and having some drinks, she can really throw ‘em back!
It was nice seeing her since I haven’t seen her for many years.

After hangin’ with Josie, Hooch and I headed to the snack shop to get some munchies to sober up before bed since we had to check out the next morning.. and it was Daylight Savings.. so not only were we losing an hour to drive back to Utah, but we were losing another hour too.. oh poops..

Next morning woke up and got ready
Got things packed up and headed for the road..
A long day after getting close to no sleep.. three nights in Vegas surely take a toll on ya..

It was a memorable time, one that I will never forget (thanks to this blog and my pictures). I am so glad that so many of us were able to get together for the event. I wasn’t as excited about seeing 311 as I was about being with my family and friends! I love spending time with good people. I didn’t have my camera a lot of the time, but as soon as I steal some pictures, I will add them where needed (bull ride.. haha). I really only missed pictures of Fremont Street and 311.

xoxo

Quotes that Kept us Entertained:

"Talk about a 10 and a 2" - Joey referring to a really hot chic (10) and a really ugly dude (the 2) ha

"I don't know, I think we're waitin.. sounds like we waitin.. Are we waitin? Well where's Kaysi, looks like we waitin.." - Jeff Swain, yes this is one quote with no one else responding... We were waiting for Kaysi, Trish, and Ryan so we could go eat some sushi with everyone before the Wailers

Ain't Gonna Wait.... to Live My Life No More

Procrastination: The act of delaying or putting off something until a later time

I've been meaning to do this for months now :)

A lot of things have happened since my last blog, much of which I am sure I will not remember. Of all the things that I do remember, the most important have been those times I have spent with loved ones, whether it be my family, friends, or life partner. Life is such a special gift, and it is amazing how often I find myself wishing time away (work). I am not so sure why work can feel like a such a burden, especially when I take a look on my life. I am fully capable of doing all of the things that I want to. There is no one stopping me, but myself. I have started to do some of the things I told myself I would do someday, and will continue to venture out in life's world to accomplish these things I've been wanting to for so long... Why wait?

Call it a mid-life crisis, call it what you will, but whatever it is that is pushing me to achieve my goals, thank you!

I've gotta start appreciating all that I have and am. I am so blessed to have so many wonderful people in my life! I don't know how I got so lucky, but I have the best family, seriously, the BEST family! I would do anything for them; their happiness means so much to me. There are so so so many people that mean so much to me! I would not be me without the amazing people I am surrounded by. In fact, I wouldn't be much of anything without them! If only I could show people just how much they really mean to me, and how far I'd really go for them. There's so many types of emotions, all felt by sharing these memorable experiences with those I love most.

I definitely don't have the words to express the passion that rests within me. I feel as though I am so much more... that there is something so much larger in me. I've always felt that there is really something so much bigger for me.. something.. somewhere.. I have a desire to make a change, a hunger.... to make something out of myself.. to make something better of this world..

"Someday I'll fly, Someday I'll soar.. Someday I'll be so dam much more.. Cause I'm bigger than my body gives me credit for" -John Mayer
